This policy applies to our handling of information about Platform visitors, prospective users and customers, and authorized users (collectively referred to as “you” throughout this Privacy Policy.
We are committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.
By visiting or using our Platform, submitting forms, accessing our services or otherwise providing us with your personal information, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Your actions in navigating our website and our Platform, interacting with its features, or choosing to provide personal details serve as an indication of your consent for us to collect, process, and use your information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. When you access the Platform and/or sign up for a Huumans product, we collect identifying information such as your name, email address, company name, business financial data, accounting records, transaction history, budgeting information, and other data to provide our accounting and business budgeting services, personalize your account, and deliver essential product updates and account information. Our legal basis for processing personal data includes: (1) explicit consent from users when they provide information, (2) performance of a contract or service, and (3) compliance with legal obligations. We do not collect or use personal information for purposes other than those specified at the time of collection, unless we have obtained additional consent or as required by law. We do not sell any personal information.
We will handle policy updates by posting the revised policy on our Platform and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. By continuing to use our services after the effective date of any privacy policy changes, you acknowledge and agree to the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should discontinue your use of our services.
1. We collect only the information necessary toprovide our services effectively. This includes basic analytics data from Platform visits and any information you choose to provide when using our services.

We collect personal information users provide uswhen they contact us through various methods, which may include: name, email address, phone number, and other contact details shared through our website andPlatform contact forms, email, phone calls, or in-person interactions when registering for our products and/or services.

We generally hold personal information on secure servers located in Canada. We do not disclose any information in our custody to third parties unless it is with consent or required by law. In cases where we are required by law to disclose information, this may include sharing data with categories of third parties such as law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, or legal counsel. We limit such disclosures to only what is necessary to comply with legal requirements.
We engage certain trusted third-party service providers to perform functions and provide services to us, such as hosting and maintenance, database storage and management, payment processing, and marketing. For payment processing, credit card information is submitted directly to our payment processor and doesn't hit our servers. We store a record of the payment transaction, including the last 4 digits of the credit card number and billing address, for purposes of account history, invoicing, billing support, calculating any applicable sales tax, and detecting fraudulent credit card transactions. These third parties may have access topersonal information needed to perform their functions, but are contractually obligated to maintain the confidentiality of the information and are restricted from using it for any other purposes.
By explicit permission we mean, in each instance, we will ask additional permission from you before passing along information. This additional permission will set out the parties with which we wish to share your information and the purposes for which we intend todo so.
